Beachside Holiday Home
Beachside occupies a terraced position in the centre of Teignmouth. Built in the 1820s this Grade II listed property spans three storeys and accommodates up to six guests. The home rates well with a good number of reviews.
The ground floor features stained wooden flooring throughout the living and dining spaces. The kitchen area has tiling underfoot and contains an electric oven with ceramic hob, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Patio doors connect the dining room to an enclosed courtyard garden that includes decking and seating.
In the living room a 55 inch Samsung QLED smart television supports streaming alongside Freeview.
Up on the first floor sit two bedrooms. The double comes with its own shower cubicle while the second bedroom offers a zip and link arrangement that serves as a king size or two singles. This level also holds a family bathroom with bath and overhead shower plus a separate toilet. The landing area opens onto a balcony via an external door.
The top floor bedroom is a king size space that commands views towards the port and along the estuary above the rooftops.
Such a configuration works well for family groups or friends sharing a coastal break. Gas central heating keeps the interior warm while Wi Fi and an Amazon Echo add modern touches.
Teignmouth rests between the sea and the Teign estuary. Its Georgian and Victorian buildings reflect a long history as a seaside destination. The back beach lies roughly 50 yards from the door with picnic spots and facilities. A short additional distance reaches the main sandy beach and Victorian pier along the promenade.
Independent shops, bakeries, butchers and eateries fill the town streets. Traditional fish and chip shops operate near the front. The arts quarter offers galleries, cafes and pubs a brief stroll away. A passenger ferry crosses the estuary to Shaldon where further walks and attractions await.
Rail connections from Teignmouth station follow the Riviera Line to Exeter or Paignton. Road access opens up Dartmoor National Park and the Templar Way walking route that links the town to the moorland.
