Teignmouth Play Park

Teignmouth Play Park

The Den occupies a prime position along Teignmouth’s seafront, where a broad expanse of grass meets the promenade and beach beyond. At one end lies the town’s main children’s play park, a refurbished space that draws families for its range of equipment and coastal setting.

The play area centres on a tall multi-play structure inspired by ocean themes, reaching six metres with slides, nets, and climbing routes suited to older children. Lower sections include swings, including a basket swing, spinning items, and ground-level sensory features that support inclusive play across abilities.

Separate zones divide the space into areas for toddlers, juniors, and more adventurous users, with safety surfacing throughout.

A wet play section provides splashing opportunities, adding variety to the equipment lineup.

Benches scattered around allow supervision while children move between activities. The layout keeps dynamic elements towards the back, leaving open sightlines from seating areas.

Beyond the fenced play zone, the wider Den offers grass for running or ball games, plus floral displays that frame the space. Views across to the beach and pier give the area a distinctive seaside feel, with the sound of waves often carrying over. Adjacent facilities include tennis courts, a multi-use games area, and adventure golf, extending options for mixed-age groups.

Maintenance keeps the park clean and equipment in good order, contributing to its appeal. The combination of challenging climbs, inclusive items, and proximity to the sea makes it a practical choice for varied family visits.
